Hello everyone. This will be my main blog for when I want to talk about Cardfight Vanguard things (mostly Bermuda Triangle because Bermuda is love, Bermuda is life). Also I am pretty new at this stuff so please forgive me when I make basic mistakes and I am not used to writing about cards in such detail so I may stuff up from time to time, but I will get better! For my first post here, I will be going through my top 5 stride units from FC2016. First I will talk about an honorable mention.
Honorable Mention: "Meteokaiser, Bustered"
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRziMcAqtEuwp-An5V-6ieyYU6ePbKKJNiK2A9-GX6Z_YSw8oUURh7vBa_s7hv_HltdSL-TWEkI2HogcE8EvatU3CcRtgm-K4cVC_sIbVxV-hUkSn8OXpT_5CWlmxhwTVu3MdUumRv0H3/s320/Meteokaiser%252C+Bustered.png)
Want a tiny bit of aggression to go along with your power? Here is Bustered to hint the answer to that question. One of Nova Grapplers best first stride (along with Tribrut) demonstrates just how aggressive Nova Grappler can be on their first stride. With a CB of 1 and a G Blast (turning any unit from the G Zone face down to face up) when he attacks, for each copy of him face up in the G Zone, you get a stand a unit. Combined with Victors' Stride skill and you have up to two units ready to launch another assault. This combination works really good at getting your opponent to drop some hand just for the three attacks. Even then he has yet another skill which is gained when you stand two or more rearguards by his effect (not including Victors stride skill). If you have five rearguards, for CB 1 and Discarding 2, you are able to stand Bustered back up. This is the part that I deemed too situational to be able to pull off. You need to have five rearguards to activate his full effect. You basically need to maintain your rearguards to have the required 5 RG therefore losing cards from your hand. Or you need to call units from your hand to have 5 RG, either way you lose hand. If you are able to, congrats but if you are up against something like Kagero and they use Lizard Soldier, Bellog to guard, they get to kill your rested RG and that makes Bustered unable to stand back up and you also may lose an attacker for when you use Bustereds' main skill which would hurt their formation, you would then realise that guarding for your rearguards was a waste of time, however this is only for Kagero and other units that kill opponents rearguards during their opponents turn. To me, you'd only want to use Bustered to stand units back up which is still amazing. If you want to use his Stand Himself skill, something like Victoplasma is a better option for G Unit Standing.
Overall Assessment: A Great First Stride
Now that we have that one out of the way, it's time to head into the top 5 strides. Keep in mind that this is in my opinion.
Number 5: "Rebellious Retainer of Fresh Blood, Frederick"
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOABzWwvzEBPCNPJDY6V6-QRyW3lKSu1DbbutyQzMlNerfqgSvCQ6TSrvyOmhxJaKQ-ZAdrjPEerfZEHGSLvHravbK_6ElhKEThrn2AnQtUWLjUyOi_VvhIViDpNZuW0y0s5rAFVZrhUsw/s320/Rebellious+Retainer+of+Fresh+Blood%252C+Frederick.png)
Gaining 10'000 power really makes it worth while with Frederick! By just putting one card from your hand to the soul, Frederick is able to become Amon (Gaining 1k for each card in the soul), and if the total power had increased by 10'000, your front row rearguards gain 5'000. So... How do you feel like dropping 4 cards from your hand in total for just the rearguards? I definitely don't want to. Want to use a PG for the Vanguard and still have to deal with the RG? I want none of that. All your rearguard columns turn into a 21k line and at minimum a 43k Vanguard attack? Say bye bye to your opponents' hand if they don't have a PG or if they don't have an Oracle Think Tank-like hand. What's worse for your opponent is that because Dark Irregulars now need 15 cards in the soul for most of their abilities to fully activate, you'll be looking at maybe 30k+ columns with Frederick? Great as a first stride since Darks usually have like 8-10 in their soul when they stride. Watch out for these guys as they will try take their place in the meta very soon. Tetsu be happy about this one.
Overall Assessment: If This Card Gave Glory Skills, We All Dead. Awesome Stride.
Number 4: "Demon Sea Queen, Maread"
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEja7WNPwObVC-varlx1nEcIPrvFSR9ejajgiQJq9M8dHj-jna02xx4uUECLmJejx9OSWbKD2kfbrG9dT1bXrFo-Ipqp_bqhS0a9JZKn8i2OgwcIAgKr1wjPsBr2b4bnWq9GUGoDR9AVGvXG/s320/Demon+Sea+Queen%252C+Maread.png)
Power gain by calling? What's next? Units gain skills by being called? ...Oh yeah... They do... With A CB of 1, a G Blast and a Discard of 1, you are able to call units from your drop zone equal to the amount of face up Mareads in the G Zone (total of 3) that are also a total of grade 4 or less. So you can call 2 Grade 2's since it equals a total of grade 4, which adds around 18k to Maread. What makes this good is that you can call 2 Grade 2's and still call a Grade 0 because it has 0 as a grade and won't increase or decrease the grade total of units you call. Do you want your field back from the get go? Thank you Maread! Combining with Nightrose and you can get a total of 4 units back and they all increase power in some way. Your opponent had better not take out your best units because they are coming back and giving power to the vanguard. Also, thanks to the Discard cost, you can also use a card from your hand as fuel for power gain for Maread. As if Granblue wasn't bad enough. Too bad this wasn't a "When this unit attacks a Vanguard" Skill... But this does or may set up for your next stride which is like amazing!
Overall Assessment: Excellent As First Stride.
Number 3: "Divine Knight of Rainbow Brocade, Clotenus"
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8OhZGFKOWtT4KZ0T9rygF3meuU4aFRsStMiTi0wdfE1nZR8225Cq2mOhtpb9LnEW_vVgG09CZcAUE0DSn1JJRnfgxz4iST4vZnCCjeJwVkWc2uPfLnghlHdOqmnJu45jd-SYcrq7u5L_9/s320/Divine+Knight+of+Rainbow+Brocade%252C+Clotenus.png)
No cards in my hand? No rearguards? No problem. Clotenus having Brave is a pretty nice thing since if you use this unit, you'd wanna save your rearguards to kick off his GB3 skill. His first skill is Brave which is activated when you have 3 or less cards in your hand, for a CB, a Soulblast of 1 and a G Blast you are able to call grade 2 units from your deck equal to the amount of face up Clotenus in the G Zone. With this (and the amount of calling Royal Paladin does) you will basically have a full field in no time and what's better is that nothing can stop this (yet). Also, Clotenus gains a GB3 skill which gives him 10'000 power and +1 Critical. Like, try and stop these next attacks especially when my vanguard is going critical! It is basically easy to say "I have no Rearguards" to "I have to stop calling Rearguards" thanks to Clotenus. I think that this is the Stride that could make any Royal Paladin deck happy since I've used this card in my Jewel Knight deck and has worked out so well. I think this is a really funny card to use against something like Kagero, you'll have no rearguards, they'll laugh but cry as they watch you stride into Clotenus and wish that they could burn units when they are called (Bushi pls make that a thing).
Overall Assessment: Royal Paladins Can Now Confidently Laugh At Kagero. Superb Stride.
Number 2: "Genesis Dragon, Troll Trans-else Messiah"
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKwY5-2LEo8tCtZLXW7Vx6GzURtgFLoYt2-XSpKyndYqjXLZErXY19mUU3YwteRO9NuL6VArdb0Tr4k7IMepfe88kmHa95OKRXucVAdrj1Uidd2zTkoj2VT60YaK74QMoGsg_fsEH_lX6X/s320/Genesis+Dragon%252C+Trans-else+Messiah.png)
What's that? I have all my units locked? Mind checking the field again? I find this card so funny in many ways. Oh no. My units are Omega Locked and my opponent has Glendios! Whatever shall I--- Stride Trans-else Messiah, now you have locked units! Trololololololol. Oh no. My locked units are gonna be retired and my opponent will draw 6 cards. If only there was a way to get myself out of--- Stride Tran-else Messiah. NOW LOOK WHO'S GONNA DRAW FROM UNLOCKED UNITS!!! Seriously, I'm not a Link Joker player (yet) and even I know how stupid this card can be. As a Generation Break 2 card, for CB 1 and a G Persona Blast, when this unit is placed on VG, you basically switch the board around. Let's say you have 3 locked units, 2 unlocked and your opponent has the same amount, both you and your opponents locked cards will be unlocked, but their cards that were previously unlocked becomes locked. I know, Lock-ception is strong with this one but to put it simply, with this card. Locked Cards = Unlock and Unlock = Locked. I'm already sick and tired of hearing lock. Best Messiah stride, it really doesn't matter how much units you get to unlock because you can still use Alter Egos' stride skill to lock your own and lock your opponents card. This card is good at potentially setting up for something like Excelics or Amnesty. Such a troll card in a Link Joker Star-Vader vs Link Joker Messiah match. I love it.
Overall Assessment: Love This Stride! So Much.
Finally, we are at number one. I would like to say again that this is my first time doing this but with my knowledge of most modern cards, I should be a decent reviewer or whatever I may be doing. Expect more of this kind of stuff, Deck Profiles and just Cardfight in general.
Now, it is time to reveal my Number 1 stride for FC2016.

Number 1: "Flower Princess of Perpetual Summer, Verano"
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh6QF2Pd1XsKZ6HkEDJEdGfdvwl72RDkSu5_zx5hlHgA3Z-UvDzI6u5yU9pPJ1LQMcJUHVBtdkayfenure5fKGzv-iQXFGYI2ZJrHtqJLs2n7_iZLKQklnOOTcOKyJCG5qz8uRgtXC7vPK/s320/Flower+Princess+of+Perpetual+Summer%252C+Verano.png)
Before I go even further, dat ass, yeah yeah *currently is definitely not nosebleeding* but besides that. Want those annoying rearguards to grow out of the ground? No? Too bad. For Soul Blast 1, a G Blast and by sending a card from your hand and drop zone back into the deck when she is placed on VG, you are able to call two units from your hand to RG and then you choose the same amount of RGs' as there are face up Verano in the G Zone and you are able to call up to one of those units from your deck to RG. Think that's mediocre? Well. The units you call also gain Boost! Look at my Grade 3 just wanting to be cloned and be given the boost ability. Also you can still activate Ahshas' stride skill after Verano or Verano after Ahsha. This card makes heaps of plays it is almost unbearable. I'll just call Grade 2 units and give them boost. Oh? They don't need boost because they are Greenshot Elf? True but I still bloom them. Prepare yourself for massive power. I have this wild feeling that Neo Nectar will sprout its way to the top (Sprout? Get it? No? okay.). I do love how you can recycle a trigger from your hand and drop zone and just call an entirely different unit. I could literally write a paragraph about how much I love this card (not just because she looks nice) and what she can do. I better not...
Overall Assessment: LOVE 100/1. Watch Your Minions Grow!
So that was my first post on this Blog. I hope you all enjoyed reading it and I will look forward to seeing you all in my next post whatever that may be. Bye!
